Plans to turn empty Newcastle city centre shop into bar and music venue

We are pleased to have acted as planning agents on behalf of our client to secure consent for an exciting new bar with live music and casual dining venue in a Grade II Listed building at 36-40 Clayton Street, Newcastle. This application was for a change of use from retail to a bar with live music in the Central Conservation Area with the main challenges relating to the retention of an active frontage along Clayton Street and noise.

We worked hard with the developer and Newcastle City Council to ensure that the scheme was of a high quality and would enhance the setting of a Conservation area.
