Hedley Planning Services is steering through plans for dozens of new homes in Sunderland.

The move, on behalf of Avant Homes, sees proposals submitted for a new coastal community of 85 homes on Lowry Road in Seaburn, which are now being considered by Sunderland City Council.

Complimenting existing plans for the seafront area, the development comprises a mix of two, three and four-bedroom family homes that will sit behind the site of the former Seaburn Centre, which is set to be transformed into a leisure destination with a STACK development.

Avant Homes North East regional director, Jennifer Tupman, commented: “We have submitted a proposal for a development of design-led homes that will bring high quality properties and a wide range of choice for people living in Seaburn.

“We are committed to creating a development that meets the needs of the local community and delivers exceptional new homes for Sunderland. Subject to planning approval, we hope to commence construction in early 2020.”

Joe Ridgeon, Hedley Planning Services’ director, added: “As planners, we want to see the creation of exciting and rewarding housing schemes that deliver a long-lasting legacy. We are working closely with the planning authorities and the developer to deliver this in Sunderland.”
