Hedley Planning Secures Permission for 130 Homes in Darlington

Hedley Planning has secured planning permission for a 130-home residential development at Burtree Garden Village in Faverdale, Darlington, on behalf of North East housebuilder Homes by Esh.

Approved by Darlington Borough Council, the scheme will deliver a mix of predominantly three and four-bedroom homes across 13 house types, including designs already featured at Homes by Esh’s Hurworth Meadows and Elder Brook Park developments in the town.

Supporting the wider Burtree Garden Village masterplan

The development forms part of the wider Burtree Garden Village masterplan, which is expected to deliver approximately 2,000 homes alongside community facilities, including a community centre, pub and health facilities.

The proposals have been designed with an emphasis on open space, pedestrian connections and green infrastructure. Energy-efficiency measures, including electric vehicle charging points and enhanced insulation, also form part of the scheme.

Continued residential development across Darlington

The approval adds to Homes by Esh’s growing portfolio of residential developments in Darlington. The housebuilder is currently delivering 144 homes at Hurworth Meadows and 155 properties at Elder Brook Park on Neasham Road, following the completion of a 225-home scheme at West Park Garden Village.

Securing permission for the 130-home development represents another step towards the delivery of Burtree Garden Village and its long-term vision for a sustainable new community.

For Hedley Planning, the project demonstrates its involvement in bringing forward residential development proposals that contribute to housing delivery and the continued growth of communities across the North East.
