PROJECT DESCRIPTION
County Durham’s Sustainable Community Strategy (2014) sets out the direction for the County’s development up to 2030, its ambition is: “to create sustainable places where people want to live, work and invest.”

This ambition is supported by a number of aims, including a ‘whole-town’ approach which recognises the important role housing plays in supporting a strong economy, highlighting the benefits of the East Shore Village development has contributed to the growth of Seaham.

The main access features an attractive, naturalistic wetland area which takes a southern course past Seaham Grange Farm, past an elevated scenic viewpoint and down into the main green corridor and through the housing clusters.

There is an urgent need for high quality family homes, including executive style development, to help support the recent investment in Seaham Town Centre and achieve sustainable growth.
