Proposed Hot Food Takeaway / Restaurant with Associated Drive-Thru 

Planning Permission is sought for the construction of a hot food restaurant / takeaway with an associated drive-thru on land at St Nicholas Retail Park, London Road, Carlisle, CA1 2EA

Hedley Planning Services and The Harris Partnership are undertaking a public consultation exercise on behalf of Custodian REIT plc ahead of the submission of a full planning application.

The proposed site is well situated within an established retail park, within close proximity to Carlisle city centre and the M6.

The proposal assimilates well within the existing boundary of St Nicholas Retail Park and seeks to diversify the food and drink options within the immediate vicinity. The proposed unit is situated on the north-eastern boundary of the park.

To reduce traffic disruptions during construction and operational phases, existing access junctions into St Nicholas Retail Park will be utilised. There are 12 car parking spaces situated adjacent to the unit, which includes 2 disabled spaces and 4 EV charging stations.

The associated drive-thru is proposed along the northern boundary and will exit into the internal road infrastructure of St Nicholas Retail Park. Traffic will subsequently exit via existing junctions as per usual.

To enhance the design to the urban realm, additional landscape features, such as street trees, are proposed along the development boundaries and existing footpaths.

The proposed development will attract inward investment to the local area and job creation for local people.
