Proposed Plot Substitution for Part of the Existing Woodside Lane Site for Miller Homes

Hedley Planning Services are submitting an application on behalf of Miller Homes to allow for part of the existing Woodside Lane site to be developed by them. The proposal is for the plot substitution of 97 homes, based on the approved road pattern.

The purpose of this website is to inform the public that a variation of condition planning application on behalf of Miller Homes will be submitted to Gateshead Council in September 2021.

The application will seek to replace the house types only and the proposal will continue to comply with aspects of the approved application, including:

  • The approved internal layout;
  • Access from Woodside Lane and delivery of the required link road;
  • Landscaping proposals, including incorporation of sustainable drainage within the site; and,
  • The Construction Management Plan which controls the construction phase of the development.

The proposal will deliver a greater range of homes to be delivered by the site, giving more choice to purchasers, whilst ensuring that the number of new homes remains the same as previously approved. We will be submitting a variation of condition application to allow for these changes to be made to the house types within this part of the site.

Please note that there will be an additional opportunity to comment on development proposals via Gateshead City Council’s formal consultation process upon submission of a formal application.
